How do I add a View pick list after adding a Web part (such as Risks or Issues) to a Project Workspace page?

Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Overview

Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Details

Background Information

A user accidentally deletes a Web part, such as the Risks or Issues web part, from the Project Workspace. After adding the Web part back to the Project Workspace page, the system does not display the View pick list on the Web part's toolbar.

Resolution

Assuming the user has not added the Web part back to the proper Project Workspace page, the user should first complete the following steps:

1.  Click the Site Actions pick list menu (upper right corner of the page) and choose the Edit Page item from the list.

2.  Click the orange Add a Web Part button.

3.  In the Add Web Parts to Main dialog, select the option for the missing Web part, and then click the Add button.

4.  In the newly added Web part, click the Edit pick list and choose the Modify Shared Web Part item.

5.  In the sidepane on the right, click the Toolbar Type pick list and choose the Full Toolbar item.

6.  Click the OK button.

7.  Click the Exit Edit Mode button (upper right corner of the page).

At this stage, the system displays the newly added Web part; however, the Web part is missing the View pick list button on the right side of the toolbar. To add the View pick list button, the user must complete the following additional steps:

1.  Click the Settings pick list button and choose the Create View item from the list.

2.  In the Start from View Template section at the bottom of the Create View page, click the All Items link.

3.  In the View Name field, enter All Items as the name of the new View.

4.  Click the OK button.

The system adds the View pick list to the far right side of the toolbar, and displays all of the default Views.
