Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Details

Background Description

Even if you used only one service account for your entire Windows SharePoint Services and Project Server 2007 installation, when you change the password, you must change it in quite a few places. To change the password values for the service accounts in your base SharePoint installation, follow the directions in this Microsoft Knowledgebase article and then complete the steps below to change the password for Project Server services and related services.

Resolution

Set Microsoft Eventing and Queueing service passwords and the SharePoint Timer Service password

    - Microsoft Project Server Eventing
    - Microsoft Project Server Queuing

  6. Click Apply. Re-enter the new password for confirmation. Click the OK button
  7. Close Internet Information Services Manager
  8. From the Start menu, select Run. Enter "iisreset" and click the OK button to restart Internet Information Services

Note: You may need to restart the server if you are unable to successfully connect to SharePoint Central Administration below to reset the password for the Shared Service Provider.
