How do I detach a Resource Plan from a Proposal converted to an enterprise Project?

Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Overview

Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Details

Background Description

When you convert a Proposal to an enterprise project, and the Proposal includes a Resource Plan, you must also detach the Resource Plan from the newly-converted enterprise project. Otherwise, Project Server 2007 continues to calculate availability information from the Resource Plan instead of the assignments you make in the enterprise project.

Resolution

To detach the Resource Plan from the enterprise project, complete the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Project Center page in PWA.

2. Click the row header for the project project to select it and then click the Resource Plan button.

3. On the Resource Plan page, click the Settings button and select the View Options item from the pick list.

4. In the View Options pane, select the Project Plan option.

5. Collapse the View Options pane by clicking the Close button (X) in the upper right corner of the section.

6. Click the Save and Publish button to publish the new Resource Plan information.

After you publish the Resource Plan for the enterprise project, Project Server 2007 must now calculate resource Availability using assignment information in the enterprise project. This means the system must determine Availability based on the resource assignments you make in the project.
