How do I display a Resource Usage view in Project Web Access?

Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Overview

Microsoft Project Server Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): Details

Background Information

Microsoft Project 2007 offers a Resource Usage view for each project that displays the following information:

  • Resources on the project team
  • Tasks assigned to each resource in the project
  • Timephased grid that shows timephased information like Work, Actual work, etc.

The challenge is to display anything similar to the Resource Usage view in Project Web Access.

Solution

To display a "Resource Usage-like" view in Project Web Access, users must complete the following steps:

1.  Navigate to the Resource Center page.

2.  Select the resources whose work you want to view in a Resource Usage view.

3.  Click the View Assignments button.

4.  On the  Resource Assignments page, click the Settings pick list button and choose the View Options item.

5.  In the expanded View Options pane, select the List option (upper left corner of the pane).

When displayed, this View approximates the information shown in the Resource Usage view.  If displays the name of each resource, along with the tasks to which they are assigned in each project, and a timephased grid on the right that is similar to the timephased grid display in the Resource Usage view in Project Professional 2007.
