Resolution

When management wants to temporarily suspend work on a project, you need to delay the uncompleted work in the project until it resumes at a later date. To do so, first complete the following steps removes the task assignments from each team member's timesheet in Project Web Access:

1. Open the project you want to put on hold

2. Click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise

3. Set the Booking type value for each team member to Proposed

4. Click OK

5. Click Collaborate - Publish - New and Changed Assignments

Next, complete the following steps to reschedule the uncompleted work into the future:

1. Click Tools - Tracking - Update Project

2. Select the "Reschedule uncompleted work to start after" option

3. Set the date for this option to the day before work is scheduled to resume on the project

4. Make sure the "Entire project" option is selected

5. Click OK

6. Click Collaborate - Publish - Project Plan

When you are ready to resume work on the project, repeat the first 5 steps in the first section and select Committed as the Booking type setting for each team member.
